V této práci shrnuji informace o fosilním záznamu čeledi Elateridae (Coleoptera: Elateroidea). I přestože je tato čeleď největší z nadčeledi Elateroidea, její vztahy i klasifikace zůstávají nevyjasněné. Fosilní záznam čeledi je důležité zkoumat, protože napomáhá pochopit nejen původ, ale i evoluční změny v průběhu historie. Hlavní částí této práce je komentovaný katalog, který je shrnutím všech známých informací o fosilních kovařících. Zahrnuje typový materiál, naleziště, stáří a veškerou dostupnou literaturu. Nejvíce druhohorních fosilních zástupců bylo popsáno z oblasti Karatau v Kazachstánu. Druhou oblastí s nejvyšším počtem druhohorních kovaříků je formace Florissant ze Severní Ameriky. Většina popsaných druhů by však potřebovala podrobnější revizi. Současně je i možné, že podstatná část druhohorních zástupců nebude náležet do čeledi Elateridae a po následné revizi dojde k jejich přesunu do čeledi jiné. Pro přehlednost celé práce je uvedena i tabulka zahrnující hlavní výsledky katalogu.In this thesis I summarized the information of the fossil record of the subfamily Elateridae (Coleoptera: Elateroidea). Although this is the largest family in the superfamily Elateroidea, its relationships and classification remain unclear. It is important to study the fossil record as it helps us to understand not only the origin but also the evolutionary changes throughout the history of the group. The main part of this study is an annotated catalogue which is a summary of all current knowledge of the fossil click-beetles. It includes information on the type material, geographic origin, age and all available bibliography. Most of the described Mesozoic click-beetles are from Karatau in Kazakhstan. The next most diverse area is the North American Florissant Formation. Most of the fossil species are in urgent need of revision. It is also possible that numerous Mesozoic species do not belong to the family Elateridae, but they might be transferred to different families after thorough revision. The table for a better clarity is also given.
