Teoretická část diplomové práce je zaměřena na klasifikaci novorozence a dále se zabývá problematikou kojení. Dále je v teoretické části popisována hyperbilirubinemie, její diagnostika, terapie a prevence. Cílem praktické části diplomové práce bylo zjistit, jaké procento dětí, které byly léčeny metodou fototerapie, odchází z porodnice plně kojené a informovanost žen o celkové problematice novorozenecké žloutenky.The theoretical part of the diploma thesis is focused on the classification of the newborn and also deals with the issue of breastfeeding. The next part of the theoretical part describes hyperbilirubinemia, its diagnosis, therapy and prevention. The aim of the practical part of the diploma thesis was to find out what percentage of children who were treated with phototherapy leave the hospital fully breastfed and the awareness of women about the general issue of neonatal jaundice.
