Cílem této diplomové práce je analyzovat a blíže zasadit do historického kontextu téměř 80 let probíhající debatu o svržení atomových bomb na dvě japonská města, Hirošimu a Nagasaki. Jaderný útok na Japonsko je jednou z nejvýznamnějších událostí 20. století a některé jeho důsledky můžeme sledovat ve světě dodnes. Proto se tento útok stal také jednou z nejdiskutovanějších a nejkontroverznějších událostí minulého století. V práci budou čtenáři představeny hlavní názorové proudy celé debaty a historický kontext tak, aby si mohl sám vytvořit či upravit vlastní názor a rozhodnout se, který názorový tábor je mu nejbližší.The aim of this thesis is to analyze and place in the historical context the for almost eighty years ongoing debate on the dropping of atomic bombs on two Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The nuclear attack on Japan is one of the most significant events of the 20th century, and we can see some of its consequences in the world even to this day. Therefore, this attack has also become one of the most debated and controversial events of the last century. In the work, the reader will be introduced to the main opinion camps of the whole debate and the historical context of the attacks so that, if possible, they can create or modify their own opinion and decide which side of the argument is closer to them.
