Cílem bakalářské práce je popsat narativní strategie seriálu This Is Us, jehož tvůrcem je Dan Fogelman. Tyto strategie popisuji pomocí narativní analýzy. Analýza se věnuje složkám vyprávění jako jsou plynutí času a prostoru, konstrukce postav a strukturní prvky seriálu. Nejprve však v práci komparuji dva vybrané díly. Metodologie bakalářské práce vychází hlavně z knihy Komplexní televize: Poetika současného televizního vyprávění od Jasona Mittela a Television: Visual Storytelling and Screen Culture od Jeremyho G. Butlera.The goal of this bachelor thesis is to describe the narrative strategies used in a TV series called This Is Us, created by Dan Fogelman. These strategies are described by the use of the narrative analysis. This analysis focuses on the narration components like for example the flow of time and space, characters construction and structural categories of the show. Beforehand however, two episodes of the show are compared. The methodology of the thesis is mainly based on the books Complex TV: The Poetics of Contemporary Television Storytelling by Jason Mittel and Television: Visual Storytelling and Screen Culture by Jeremy G. Butler.
