Diplomová práce se zabývá původem písma v kontextu evoluce jazyka jako komunikačního prostředku. Práce se zaměřuje na popis vybraných teorií a hypotéz o vzniku jazyka. Soustředí se také na biologickou perspektivou vzniku jazyka s cílem ukázat, že schopnost mluvit je jedinečná lidská vlastnost. Práce se snaží nastínit vznik plně realizovaných písemných systémů a poukázat na mezery v našem chápání původu písma. Kapitola věnovaná počátkům písemných systémů se zaměřuje na možné způsoby vzniku písma, jeho první doklady a počátky ucelených písemných systémů. Další část práce se zabývá výzkumem Genevieve von Petzinger, jejíž dílo představuje poněkud extrémnější stanovisko původu skriptuálních systémů v mladém paleolitu. Tato část se zabývá typologií symbolů, jež von Petzinger sestavila, a snaží se vysledovat, zda se může jednat o grafickou komunikaci. Dále se práce snaží porovnat vlastnosti grafické komunikace a skalního umění a zjistit, zda lze parietální umění považovat za předstupeň písemných systémů. Geometrické symboly jsou dále srovnávány s neuropsychologickým modelem D. Lewis-Williamse, který některé z nich považuje za entoptické fenomény. Práce se snaží nastínit možnosti původu nefigurativního umění a zabývá se otázkou, zda se jedná o grafickou komunikaci.This thesis deals with the origin of writing in the context of language evolution as a means of communication. The thesis focuses on the description of selected theories and hypotheses about the origin of language. It also focuses on the biological perspective of the emergence of language in order to show that the ability to speak is a unique human feature. The work tries to outline the emergence of fully implemented written systems and point out the gaps in our understanding of the origin of writing. The chapter devoted to the beginnings of written systems focuses on possible ways of writing, its first documents and the beginnings of comprehensive written systems. The next part of the thesis deals with the research of Genevieve von Petzinger, whose work represents a somewhat more extreme view of the origin of scriptual systems in the Upper Paleolithic. This section deals with the typology of symbols that von Petzinger has compiled and tries to trace whether it can be a graphic communication. Furthermore, the thesis tries to compare the characteristics of graphic communication and rock art and to find out whether parietal art can be considered as a precursor to written systems. The geometric symbols are further compared with the neuropsychological model of D. Lewis-Williams, who considers some of them to be entoptic phenomena. The thesis tries to outline the possibilities of origin of non-figurative art and deals with the question whether it is a graphic communication.
