El objetivo que nos proponemos en este trabajo es analizar los cambios en la pronunciación y la pérdida de la /s/ implosiva. Nuestro trabajo va a constar de dos partes principales -la teórica y la práctica- divididos en seis capítulos que van a tratar temas diferentes. En la primera parte, vamos a esbozar la evolución de la lengua y del sistema consonántico espanol; vamos a ver, también, varias teorías sobre el origen tanto espacial como temporal del debilitamiento de la /s/ implosiva, sus grados y posibles consecuencias. En la segunda parte, vamos a realizar un análisis de los datos obtenidos a través del CORDE.The aim of the diploma thesis is to analyse pronunciation changes in historical documents; paying special attention to the loss of the implosive /s/ in Spanish. The thesis consists in two parts, the theoretical background, and the research part. The theoretical part is dedicated to an overview of the language development and the consonant system of Spanish, due attention is paid to the theories explaining the place and time where the weakening of implosive /s/ in Spanish has taken place. A variety of weakening levels and possible impact of the phenomenon is also described. In the research part, the data obtained from the Spanish Royal Academy Diachronic Corpora (CORDE) are analysed.
