El objetivo de esta tesina es el análisis literario de la obra Tenerife y su seis satélites de la escritora inglesa Olivia M. Stone. El propósito es analizar la obra elegida y presentar las categorías histórico-culturales. El trabajo está dividido en dos partes. En la parte teórica, intentamos a describir el género del diario de viajes y lo comparamos con otros géneros parecidos. Además, nos examinamos los viajeros del siglo XIX y como las mujeres viajeras percibieron sus recorridos durante esta época. En la parte analítica nos dedicamos al estudio del corpus seleccionado. También, nos fijamos en la descripción de las Islas Canarias de Olivia M. Stone.This thesis presents the literary analysis of Olivia M. Stone's book called Tenerife and Its Six Satellites. The aim of this work is an analysis of the chosen literary work, with special focus on the historical and cultural categories. This work is divided into two parts. First one is theoretical where we focus on the description of the travelogue literary genre. The second part of this thesis is practical where we proceeded to the analysis of the selected corpus. At the beginning of the thesis, we focused on the writings of various travellers of the 19th century, and we also presented how women perceived the travelling back then. Last but not least, we concentrated on the Stone's description of the Canary Isles, especially the isle of Tenerife.
