Práce se zabývá vzájemným vztahem Sovětského svazu a národnostních menšin ve 30. a 40. letech 20. století, a zda aplikovaná politika vůči menšinám naplňuje charakteristiky genocidy či nikoli. Práce se věnuje vymezení termínu genocidy a historickému přehledu spáchaných genocid ve 20. století. Taktéž popisuje národností politiku Sovětského svazu v první polovině 20. století a interpretaci této politiky bolševiky a samotným Josefem Vissarionovičem Stalinem. Dále se zaobírá násilnými deportacemi kavkazských národů a krymských Tatarů. V práci je vysvětlena ekonomické situaci v Sovětském svazu od poloviny 20. let 20. století a problematika dekulakizace a kolektivizace. Následně popisuje ukrajinský hladomor z let 1932-1933. V poslední části se zaměřuje na skutečnost, zda národností politika praktikována vedením Sovětského svazu naplňuje charakteristiky genocidy či nikoli.The thesis deals with the relationship between the Soviet Union and national minorities in the 1930s and 1940s, and whether the applied policy towards minorities fulfills the characteristics of genocide or not. The thesis deals with the definition of the term genocide and a historical overview of genocides committed in the 20th century. The thesis also describes national policy of the Soviet Union in the first half of the 20th century and the interpretation of this policy by the Bolsheviks and by Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin. It also deals with the violent deportations of Caucasian peoples and Crimean Tatars. The thesis explains the economic situation in the Soviet Union since the mid-20s of the 20th century and the issues of dekulakization and collectivization. It then describes the Ukrainian famine of 1932-1933. The last part of the thesis focuses on the fact whether nationality policy practiced by the leadership of the Soviet Union fulfills the characteristics of genocide or not.
