Cílem této práce je porovnat Barucha Spinozu a Sama Harrise jako dva myslitele, které od sebe dělí tři století. Budu se snažit najít podobnost v myšlenkách a názorech, které každý zvlášť zastával. Hlavním tématem porovnání bude jejich názor na svobodnou vůli. V úvodu práce se budu zabývat vymezením pojmu svobodné vůle. Popíšu problematiku svobodné vůle v historii filozofie a také názory, které dnešní myslitelé zastávají. Druhá část bude věnována Spinozovi, jeho pohledu na Boha, teorii afektů a jeho pojetí svobodné vůle. V třetí části popíšu názory Harrise, jeho pohled na svět, teorii ega a poukážu na pokusy v neurovědě, o které se Harris opírá. Závěrem práce bude porovnání názorů Spinozy a Harrise, a také potvrzení nebo vyvrácení mé domněnky, že si jsou tito dva myslitelé podobní v názorech.The goal of the bachelor thesis is to compare the two world renowned philosophers, Baruch Spinoza and Sam Harris, who are separated by three centuries. I think, regardless of the epoch variation, that the thoughts and premises of both authors are similar. The main focus of the comparison is on free will, In the first part, I will introduce the concept of free will, where I will describe the problems of the concept within the history of philosophy, as well as opinions of contemporary thinkers. The second part will be devoted to Spinoza, his view of God, the theory of affects and his concept of free will. In the third part of the thesis, I will describe the opinions of Harris, his perspective on the world, theory of the ego, and I will point out the experiments in neuroscience that Harris used for his arguments. In the last chapter of the thesis I will compare the opinions of Spinoza and Harris, and also i will confirm or refute my belief that the two thinkers are similar in their opinion.
