Dizertační práce na téma Městské divadlo v Krnově v letech 1854-1944 (Das Stadttheater in Jägerndorf in den Jahren 1854-1944) se zabývá proměnami německojazyčného divadla v jednom z nejmenších městských divadel na Moravě a ve Slezsku. Nastíní jednotlivé etapy spojené s provozem v odlišných divadelních sálech a prezentuje specifické podmínky ve fázích, v nichž bylo profesionální divadlo v Krnově provozováno, a to v oblasti umělecké i provozní. Nezbytnou součástí práce byl rozsáhlý heuristický výzkum vydávaných periodik, který byl nejdůležitějším zdrojem informací o zdejším divadelním životě. Byl vytvořen dosud nezpracovaný soupis denního repertoáru odehraných představení. Cílem práce je charakterizovat jednotlivé divadelní etapy prostřednictvím jejich ředitelů a divadelních podmínek, včetně základního vyhodnocení repertoárové skladby. Součástí práce je také zachycení zdejších divadelních aktivit v provázanosti na mnohé významné umělecké osobnosti, které působily i v širším středoevropském divadelním kontextu.The dissertation thesis Town Theatre in Krnov from 1854 to 1944 (Das Stadttheater in Jägerndorf in den Jahren 18541944) is focused on changes of German speaking theatre in one of the smallest town theatres in Moravian and Silesian region. The thesis outlines particular phases connected with the operation in various theatre halls and it presents specifics of periods in which this professional theatre in Krnov were functioning, namely within the frame of artistic and operational areas. The essential part of the thesis was a heuristic research of published periodicals, which was the most important source of information about local theatre life. So far an unprocessed inventory of daily repertoire of past performances has been created. The aim of this thesis is to characterize individual theatre period via their directors as far as theatre conditions and basic evaluation of the repertoire structure. Part of the thesis is also to pin down local theatre activities in connection with many important artistic personalities, who also worked in the wider Central European theatre context.
