Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá komentovaným překladem části románu "Jákobův žebřík" Ljudmily Ulické. Čtenář se seznámí s historickými událostmi 19. století až konce 20. století a zároveň bude prožívat lidské osudy hlavních hrdinů. Práce se skládá ze dvou částí. V teoretické části se zabýváme teorií a praxí překladu, funkčními styly, charakteristikou uměleckého textu. Důraz je kladen také na autorku a její tvorbu. Na teoretickou část navazuje část praktická, která se zabývá samotným překladem jednotlivých kapitol. Překladatelský komentář obsahuje vybrané překladatelské transformace opatřené konkrétními příklady z textu.This bachelor thesis deals with the commented translation part of the novel "Jacob's Ladder" by Ljudmila Ulitskaya. The reader will learn about historical events of the 19th century until the end of the 20th century, and at the same time will experience the human destinies of the main heroes. This thesis consists of two parts. In the theoretical part we deal with the theory and practice of translation, functional styles, characteristics of the artistic text. Emphasis also be put on the author and her work. The practical part includes translations of individual chapters. The translation comment also contain selected translational transformations, with specific examples from the text.
