Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá porovnáním postojů Velké Británie k Evropskému společenství, respektive Evropské unii, během vlád Margaret Thatcherové a Tonyho Blaira. Práce si klade za cíl najít odlišnosti, popřípadě srovnalosti v evropských politikách těchto dvou ministerských předsedů vlád. V teoretické rovině je tato práce podepřena teorií euroskepticismu. Bakalářská práce je rozdělena do čtyř kapitol. První představuje teoretickou konceptualizaci euroskeptických postojů. Druhá a třetí kapitola je věnována období Margaret Thatcherové a Tonyho Blaira se zaměřením na události, jež ovlivnily britsko-evropské vztahy. V případě Margaret Thatcherové se jedná o vyjednávání britské slevy do rozpočtu Evropského společenství, Jednotného evropského aktu, či postoji k hospodářské a měnové unii. Naopak u Tonyho Blaira jde o participaci ve společné bezpečnostní a obranné politice, smlouvě o Ústavě pro Evropskou unii nebo implementaci společné měny. Závěrečná část práce se zabývá hodnocením evropské politiky Margaret Thatcherové a Tonyho Blaira. Na základě analýzy postojů těchto dvou vlád je pak možné zodpovědět výzkumné otázky, které byly stanoveny v úvodu bakalářské práce.This bachelor thesis deals with the comparison of Great Britains attitudes towards the European Community or the European Union during Margaret Thatchers and Tony Blairs goverments. The aim of the thesis is to find differences or comparisons in european policies of these two prime ministers. On the theoretical level, this work is supported by the theory of euroscepticism. The bachelor thesis is divited into four chapters. The first is a theoretical conceptualization of eurosceptic attitudes. The second and third chapters are devoted to the period of Margaret Thatcher and Tony Blair focusing on events that influenced british-european relations. The Margaret Thatchers part includes the negotiation about the British rebate into the European Community budget, the Single European Act or the stance of monetary union. The Tony Blairs part is concerned with participation in the common security and defence policy, the Constitution for the European Union or the implementation of the common currency. The final part of the thesis deals with the evaluation of european politics of Margaret Thatcher and Tony Blair. Based on the analysis of the attitudes of these two goverments it is possible to answer the research questions that were pencilled in at the beggining of this bachelors thesis.
