Bakalářská práce se zabývá procesem rozpoznávání silných stránek dětí z vícečetných rodin. V teoretické části nejprve popisujeme pohled na charakter v psychologii, poté uvádíme koncept silných stránek charakteru od Petersona a Seligmana (2004), a následně se zabýváme rozpoznáváním a rozvojem těchto charakteristik u dětí. Pro výzkum jsme volili kvalitativní design, konkrétně metodu polostrukturovaného rozhovoru s 12 rodiči s pěti a více dětmi. Za pomoci metody zakotvené teorie jsme dospěli k tomu, že rozpoznávání silných stránek je přirozený proces, který probíhá na základě kontaktu s dítětem a schopnosti rodiče objevit silné stránky. Typickou metodou je pozorování dítěte, jehož silné stránky se mohou projevit především v krizových situacích. Rozpoznání vede rodiče k pomoci dětem jejich vlastnosti rozvíjet. Další zkoumání podobné problematiky by mohlo vést k vzdělávání rodičů v schopnosti rozpoznávat a rozvíjet silné stránky svých dětí.This bachelor thesis deals with the process of identifying strengths of children from large families. In the theoretical part, we first describe theories of character in psychology, then we introduce the concept of character strengths from Peterson and Seligman (2004), and then we focus on identifying and cultivating these characteristics of children. In empirical part, we have chosen qualitative design, namely method of semi-structured interview with twelve parents of five or more children. Using the grounded theory, we found that identifying of strengths is a natural process that takes place thanks to the contact with the child and the ability of the parents to discover these characteristics. A typical method is the observation of a child whose strengths can manifest mainly in crisis situations. Identifying leads parents to help children cultivate their characteristics. Further exploration of similar issues could lead to parents being educated in their ability to identify and cultivate the strengths of their children.
