V regionu jižní Afriky hraje Jihoafrická republika roli významného příjemce migrantů a odesílatele remitencí. Nicméně stojí i na straně druhé, jako významný příjemce remitencí ze světa a jako odesílatel migrantů do zemí mimo Afriku. Hlavním cílem bakalářské práce je zhodnocení mezinárodních migračních trendů mezi Jihoafrickou republikou a státy regionu jižní Afriky od 90. let minulého století po současnost. Úvodem obecně definuje migraci, její typy, teorie, příčiny, projevy a dopady s ohledem na vyskytované jevy v regionu. Dále práce teoreticky ukotvuje analytickou část porovnáním prostorových a časových charakteristických rysů jednotlivých států regionu a vyjmenovává jejich společné faktory či odlišnosti. V empirické části se práce zaměřuje na interpretaci a grafické znázornění změn migračních zásob v absolutních a relativních číslech, dopady v podobě remitencí ve vybraných zemích a jejich vysvětlení pomocí teoretické rešerše. Popsaná je i prostorová distribuce mezinárodních migrantů v rámci provincí.South Africa plays important role in the Southern Africa region as a receiver of migrants and also as a sender of remittances. On the other hand, it stands in the reverse position in the context of intercontinental migration. The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate international migration trends between South Africa and Southern African region as defined by African Union in time period from the 90s to the present. At the first part it focuses on theoretical background of migration, its definitions, types, theories, causes, indicators and impacts. It chooses them according to the results found in the empirical part. It continues by giving historical and spatial context of the analysis and all of the analysed countries, which focuses on the common occurrences as well as the differences. The empirical part is focused on the interpretation and graphical presentation of migration stocks and remittances both total and bilateral. It tries to explain the trends by theoretical research. The spatial distribution of international migrants in the provinces of South Africa is also described.
