Tématem bakalářské práce je analýza a interpretace ženských postav ve filmech polsko-francouzského režiséra Romana Polanského Hnus, Hořký měsíc a Venuše v kožichu, ve kterých jsou ženské postavy prezentovaný jako dominantní osobnosti. Cílem práce je postihnout vývoj a proměny ženských postav ve filmech Romana Polanského od šedesátých let do současnosti, které vyplývají ze změn postavení ženy ve společnosti, vývoje stylu, narativních strategií a osobnosti režiséra. Metodologie práce je odvozena z feministické filmové teorie podle stati Vizuální slast a narativní film Laury Mulvey (a také freudovské psychoanalýzy, která je uplatňovaná v rámci filmových studií), z teorie postavy Seymoura Chatmana popsané v knize Příběh a diskurs: Narativní struktura v literatuře a filmu a také z knih Christophera Sandforda Polanski : A Biography, Daniela J. Gouldinga Five filmmakers: Tarkovsky, Forman, Polanski, Szabo, Makavejev a z úryvků knihy Romana Polanského Polanski by Roman. Výsledky této práce umožnují sledovat evoluci ženských postav ve vybraných filmech Romana Polanského, na jejichž pozadí lze vidět vliv osobního života režiséra a proměnu jeho vnímání postavení žen ve společnosti. Pomocí propojení feministické filmové teorie (z hlediska Laury Mulvey) a teorie postav (podle Seymoura Chatmana) jsem měla možnost lépe prozkoumat a pochopit ženské postavy jak ze strany vnější, tak i ze strany vnitřní struktury, což nakonec dává ucelenou představu o proměnách žen ve vybraných filmech tohoto režiséra.The topic of this bachelor thesis will be the analysis and interpretation of female characters in the films "Repulsion", "Bitter Moon" and "Venus in Fur" of the French-Polish director Roman Polanski. In the above-mentioned films the female characters are presented as a dominant personality. The objective of the thesis will address the evolution and changes of the female characters in the films of Roman Polanski from the sixties till nowadays, which derive from changes in a women's status in society, style and narrative strategy in film as well as the personality of the director. The methodology of the thesis will be derived from the feminist film theory according to the essay Visual pleasure and narrative film by Laura Mulvey (and also to Freudian psychoanalysis, which is applied in the context of film studies) and also from the theory of characters by Seymour Chatman according to his book Story and discourse: Narrative structure in fiction and film as well as from the books of Christopher Sandford - Polanski: A Biography, Daniel J. Goulding Five filmmakers: Tarkovsky, Forman, Polanski, Szabo, Makavejev, and excerpts from the Roman Polanski's book Polanski by Roman. The result of this thesis allow following the evolution of female characters in the selected films of Roman Polanski, where in the background it is possible to see the influence of the personal life of the director and the transformation of his perception of the characters of women in society. By linking the feminist film theory (according to Laura Mulvey) and the theory of characters (according to Seymour Chatman) I had the opportunity for better exploring and understanding of the female characters from the external and internal structure, which finally gives a comprehensive idea about the vicissitudes of women in selected films of the director.
