Bakalářská práce "Pražský lingvistický kroužek a jeho přínos pro strukturní lingvistiku" se zabývá charakteristikou, hlavními zásadami a vzájemnými vztahy lingvistických škol navazujících na strukturalismus. Představena je lingvistická škola Ženevská, Pražská, Kodaňská a také principy amerického deskriptivismu. Práce se specializuje na Pražský lingvistický kroužek, jeho metodologii, přínos a vztahy k ostatním strukturálním školám. Cílem práce je analyzovat funkčně-strukturní přístup Pražské školy k jazyku. K demonstraci jsou vybráni nejvýznamnější představitelé a porovnáván je jejich specifický vztah k zahraničním inspiracím a přesahům. K analýze jsou vybrány osobnosti Viléma Mathesia, Bohuslava Havránka, Nikolaje Sergejeviče Trubeckého a Romana Osipoviče Jakobsona. Práce sleduje pojetí jazykové funkce jednotlivých osobností. Tento aspekt je dále komparován s dalšími strukturálními školami a představiteli. Důraz je kladen zejména na vztah k osobnosti Ferdinanda de Saussura a jeho dichotomické členění v rámci jazykového rozboru.Bachelor thesis "The Prague Linguistic Circle and its Asset to the Structural Linguistics" deals with the characteristics, the main principles and relationships of linguistic schools based on structuralism. The linguistic schools of Prague, Geneva, Copenhagen and the principles of American descriptivism are presented too. The thesis is specialized in Prague Linguistic Circle, its methodology, asset and relationship to other linguistic schools. The aim of the thesis is to analyse functional and structural approach of Prague linguistic school to the language. The most important performers of Prague linguistic school are selected to compare their specific relationship to foreign inspirations and overlaps. The personalities Vilém Mathesius, Bohuslav Havránek, Nikolaj Sergejevič Trubeckoj and Roman Osipovič Jakobson are chosen for the analysis. The thesis follows the concept of language function of individual personalities. This aspect is compared with other structural schools and their performers. The emphasis is especially put on relationship to the personality of Ferdinand de Saussure and his dichotomy of language analysis.
