Práce se zabývá tématem magie ve Shakespearových hrách, zaměřuje se zejména na pojetí ženských a mužských postav spjatých s nadpřirozenem. Zatímco ženy působí jako záporné postavy, muži se zdají být postavami spíše kladnými. Ukazuje se však, že se u žen často jedná o jakousi snahu vyrovnat se mužům, kteří v některých případech potlačují svobodnou vůli těchto žen. Práce také mapuje vztah k nadpřirozenu a čarodějnictví v alžbětinské době a popisuje díla autorů Shakespearovy doby, což umožňuje do jisté míry porovnat zpracování tohoto tématu z různých úhlů pohledu. V bakalářské práci jsou analyzována tato Shakespearova dramata: Sen noci svatojánské, Macbeth, Bouře a Král Jindřich VI, část 1.The bachelor thesis presents Shakespeare's characters associated with magic, witchcraft, and supernatural and particularly his portrayal of female and male characters. Although it seems that women are often malevolent and evil, while men are portrayed as good sorcerers, the truth is that men often assert their authority on them, and the evil behaviour of women may be taken as an effort to be equal. The context of the Elizabethan era and its belief in the supernatural is mentioned, as well as other authors of Shakespeare's age that involved the theme of magic in their works. The following Shakespeare's plays are analysed: A Midsummer Night's Dream, Macbeth, The Tempest, and Henry VI, Part I.
