Předkládaná magisterská diplomová práce Časopis Varyto Emanuela Binka a jeho klavírní repertoár (18781891) přináší podrobné pojednání o hudebním moravském periodiku druhé poloviny 19. století s praktickým zaměřením cíleným převážně na klavírní repertoár. Aby bylo téma vsazeno do kulturně historického kontextu, neopomíjí vstupní část textu kapitolu o měšťanské kultuře, která udávala směr 19. století, s ní úzce souvisí kapitola věnovaná kultuře salonní a fenoménu salonní hudby. Pro srovnání významu Binkova periodika na poli českého hudebního časopisectví je práce doplněna o historický nástin časopisectví na našem území do konce 19. století. Následuje kapitola zabývající se významem a původem termínu "varyto", po němž je časopis pojmenován, a v neposlední řadě jedna z kapitol seznamuje čtenáře s redaktorem časopisu, Emanuelem Binkem, moravským učitelem, hudebníkem, organizátorem a skladatelem. Stěžejní část práce mapuje okolnosti vzniku, vývojové fáze periodika, význam a charakter publikovaného hudebního repertoáru v kontextu doby. Na základě hudebních analýz vybraných klavírních kompozic časopisu sleduje nejen zaměření skladeb, vykazující atributy salonní hudby, ale také poptávku a hudební vkus české veřejnosti. Přináší zkompletovaný seznam skladeb pro klávesové nástroje všech čtrnácti ročníků, které jsou nafoceny i se zpěvní a literární přílohou na CD, které je součástí práce.The Master's Thesis Emanuel Binko's Varyto Magazine and its piano repertoire (18781891) gives detailed treatise about this Moravian musical periodical from the second half of the 19th century, mainly focusing on its piano repertoire. For the topic to be set into proper culturally-historical context, the thesis begins with a chapter on city culture - the vanguard of 19th century cultural development being closely followed by a chapter on parlour culture and parlour music phenomena. To compare the importance of Binko's periodical with its parallels in the field of Czech musical magazines, the thesis also contains a chapter on Czech magazine history until the end of 19th century. In the following chapters, the thesis focuses on the origin and meaning of the term "varyto", after which the magazine was named, and it introduces the magazine's editor, Emanuel Binko Moravian teacher, musician, organiser and composer to the reader. The core part of this thesis maps the circumstances of the creation of Varyto, the phases of its development, and also the meaning and the character of the musical repertoire published in this magazine, all set in the context of the era. Based on musical analyses of selected piano compositions from this magazine, the thesis studies not only the focus of the musical pieces that show parlour music attributes, but also the demand and musical taste of Czech public. It provides the complete list of musical compositions for keyboard instruments of all the fourteen volumes, of which the photographs can be found on the attached CD.
