Práce pojednává o obrazu Austrálie, jenž zachytily cestopisy psané Čechy, kteří na Australském kontinentu pobývali do roku 1901. Práce je rozdělena na tři části, první hovoří o australské historii, druhá pak o cestovatelství jako takovém. Třetí a hlavní část se snaží nastínit obraz Austrálie skrze životopisné medailónky cestovatelů, dále zmiňuje osudy cestopisců spojené s australským pobytem, závěrem pak porovnává jejich názory na vybraná témata.Thesis discusses an image of Australia described by Czech explorers who were staying on the Australian continent until 1901. The thesis itself is divided into three individual parts. The first part describes Australian history. The second part is focused on travelling as such. The third and main part tries to outline the image of Australia through travelers' biographical portraits, it subsequently mentions the fate of the explorers connected with their stay in Australia. In the end, a comparison of chosen topics and their opinions is consequently given.
