V diplomové práci se zabývám integračním procesem Ukrajinců z hlediska jejich očekávání ale také bariér, kterým v průběhu svého pobytu mohou čelit. V teoretické části práce, kromě vymezení aspektů, modelů a dimenzí procesu sociálního začleňování cizinců do české společnosti, stručně vymezuji důležité pojmy a teorie z oblasti migrace, včetně české migrační a integrační politiky. Ukrajinskou menšinu charakterizuji z hlediska historie i současné podoby ukrajinské imigrace do Česka, tedy před a po roce 1989, dále se zmiňuji o socio-kulturním profilu Ukrajinců, jejich společenský život v emigraci a specifikách ukrajinské komunity na Olomoucku. Seznamuji s konceptem sociálního fungování, který může být aplikován při práci s menšinami a cizinci. V praktické části prezentuji výsledky kolektivní případové studie s šesti ukrajinskými migranty na téma jejich očekávání, která měli před příchodem do Česka a jak se očekávání změnila v průběhu jejich života v emigraci. Dále jsem u informátorů zkoumala bariéry ve čtyřech vybraných dimenzích sociální integrace, kterými jsou strukturální, kulturní, interaktivní a identifikační dimenze.The thesis deals with the integration process of the Ukrainians in terms of their expectations but also barriers they might face during their stay. In the theoretical part, in addition to defining aspects, models and dimensions of the process of social integration of foreigners into Czech society, briefly describe the main concepts and theories of migration, including czech immigration and integration policy. Ukrainian minority characterize in terms of history and contemporary forms of ukrainian immigration to the Czech Republic, before and after 1989, further to mention the socio-cultural profile of the Ukrainians, their social life in exile and specifics of the ukrainian community in Olomouc. Acquainted with the concept of social functioning, which can be applied when working with minorities and foreigners. In the practical part I present the results of a collective case study of six ukrainian migrants regarding their expectations, which had before coming to the Czech Republic and how expectations changed in the course of their lives in exile. I also examined the barriers of informants in four selected dimensions of social integration, which are structural, cultural, interactive and identification dimension
