Magisterská diplomová práce se zaměřuje na problematiku vážné a populární hudby v sociálních a kulturních souvislostech. Zkoumá hudební vkus žáků a absolventů hudebních oborů na základních uměleckých školách a hledá souvislosti mezi jejich hudebním vzděláním a jimi preferovanou hudbou. Teoretická část se věnuje pojmům "vysoká" a "nízká" kultura, vkusu, kulturnímu kapitálu, členění hudby a hudebním oborům základního uměleckého vzdělávání. Následuje část empirická. Při výzkumu je využíváno kvantitativního i kvalitativního přístupu. Za pomoci dotazníků a hloubkových polostrukturovaných rozhovorů je zkoumáno, jaké jsou hudební preference žáků a absolventů hudebních oborů na základních uměleckých školách, jaký vliv na hudební vkus má studium těchto hudebních oborů a jak je hudební vkus ovlivňován rodinným prostředím. Práce dospěla k závěru, že na vliv ZUŠ na hudební vkus jedince je možné usuzovat z toho, že vážná hudba se u výzkumného souboru umístila mezi třemi nejoblíbenějšími hudebními žánry. Podle participantů je úloha ZUŠ především v tom, že jedinci rozšíří obzor v oblasti hudebních žánrů, což může mít posléze vliv na hudební vkus. Hudební vkus jedince je ovlivňován také rodinným prostředím.The master thesis focuses on the topic of classical and popular music in relation to society and culture. It analyses taste in music of the students and graduates of the musical domain at the Elementary School of Arts and searches for a connection between students' preference of music and his acquired musical education. The theoretical part deals with the terms such as "high" and "low" culture, taste, cultural capital, the division of music and musical domains in the education of elementary art. The following part is empirical. In the research, the author used qualitative and quantitative methods. Through the questionnaire and in-depth semi-structured interviews, the thesis examines the music preferences of the students and graduates of music majors at the Elementary School of Arts, the influence of the music majors on their music taste and how the family environment affects the music taste. The author concludes that the Elementary Schools of Arts has an impact on the music taste of its students as the classical music was the third most popular music genre in the research file. In the opinion of the participants, the main role of the Elementary School of Art lies in introducing the variety of music genres to student which can have an effect on his music preference. The family environment also plays a role here.
