V minulosti proběhlo již několik výzkumů zabývající se dopadem bilingvismu na kognitivní procesy, jejichž výsledky naznačují převážně pozitivní nebo neutrální vliv. Tato práce se zaměřuje na problematiku vztahu bilingvismu a kreativity. Zde předpokládáme, že bilingvní jedinci vykazují vyšší skóre v Urbanově figurálním testu tvořivého myšlení (TSD-Z) a v Kaufmanově škále doménově specifické tvořivosti (K-DOCS). Dalším předpokladem je korelace mezi oběma testovými metodami. Výzkumný soubor tvoří 76 respondentů, kteří byli dle specifických kritérií osloveni přímo, reagovali na inzerát nebo byli pozvaní jinými respondenty. Výsledky naznačují, že bilingvisti vykazují nepatrně nižší skóre v případe TSD-Z než jejich monolingvní vrstevníci. Naopak na škále K-DOCS měli bilingvisti ve všech doménách více bodů. Neodhalili jsme však žádný statisticky významný rozdíl mezi páry, ani souvislost mezi testovými metodami. Je tedy možné konstatovat, že v tomto případě neexistuje žádný signifikantní rozdíl v oblasti kreativity mezi jedinci, vyrůstající v bilingvním prostředí a jedinci, kteří si osvojili pouze jeden jazyk.In the past there have been several studies on the impact of bilingualism on cognitive processes. In general, the results of such studies usually indicate a positive or neutral impact. This thesis focuses on the issue of the relation between bilingualism and creativity. We assume that bilingual individuals would show higher scores in the Urban Figural Test of Creative Thinking (TSD-Z) and in Kaufman´s Domains of Creativity Scale (K-DOCS). Another assumption is the correlation between the two test methods. The following research sample consists of 76 respondents. They were either approached directly, responded to an advertisement or were invited by other respondents according to specific criteria. The results suggest that bilinguals show a slightly lower score in the TSD-Z than their monolingual counterparts. Conversely, comparing the results of the K-DOCS, the bilinguals show more points in 4 out of 5 domains. Furthermore, the results of the research do not reveal a statistically significant difference among the matched respondents nor a correlation between the test methods. It can therefore be concluded that in this case there is no significant difference in terms of creativity among individuals growing up in a bilingual environment and individuals who use a single language.
