Výzkumným rámcem disertační práce je poodhalení procesu proměny materiálových médií v díle vybraných umělců v kontextu podstatných změn obrazu společnosti 20. století, a to v širších souvislostech s literaturou, filosofií, řemeslně-materiálovou kulturou či industriálním procesem. Zvláštní důraz je kladen na výzkum proměny textilního média v linii celého století v kontextu šestnácti ročníků Bienále tapisérie v Lausanne (1962-1996) a Mezinárodní výstavy moderních dekorativních a průmyslových umění v Paříži v roce 1925.The research framework of the dissertation is unveiling the transformation process of material media in the work of selected artists in the context of significant changes in the image of the 20th century society, in the broader connection with the literature, philosophy, material-crafted culture or the industrial process. Particular emphasis is placed on research in the transformation of the textile medium line the whole century in the context of sixteen Biennials of tapestry in Lausanne (1962-1996) and the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris in 1925.
