Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na analýzu motivu dvojníků ve vybraných dílech německého spisovatele E. T. A. Hoffmanna. Nejprve se věnuje literární historii a pojmu dvojníků, jeho charakteristice a výskytu v romantické literatuře. Následně se práce věnuje Hoffmannovu dílu, pro kterého je motiv dvojníků typický. Práce se také bude věnovat hledání identity a jejího rozštěpení, což úzce souvisí právě s motivem dvojníků. Analýza bude provedená na základě naratologických prvků, kterými autor ve svých dílech dosahuje pocitů rozdvojení a ztráty identity.The main focus of the thesis lies on the analysis of a doppelgänger concept in the selected works of prose written by the German author E. T. A. Hoffmann. The first part of the thesis provides a short introduction to the literary movements and genres that frame the analysed phenomena. The doppelgänger concept is discussed primarily with respect to its role in romantic literature. The main part of the thesis presents the analysis of the two of Hoffmann's works of prose that deal with this concept. The thesis also examines a search for identity and its dissociation, which is closely related to the doppelgänger concept. The analysis itself is carried out with the help of narratological devices that the writer uses to depict the dissociation and loss of identity.
