Práce se zabývá ekonomickými faktory, které jsou u počátku kulturních rozdílů mezi americkým Severem a Jihem. Zbývá se rovněž vznikem tzv. "Jižanského konzervatismu" a rozdíly mezi mýty a realitou o americkém Jihu. Popis ekonomických faktorů se vztahuje i na ekonomické nevýhody Jihu, během americké občanské války.This thesis contains information about economic factors, which were at the outset of cultural differences between American North and South. It deals with the emergence of the so-called "Southern conservatism" and differences between myths and reality about the American South. Description of the economic factors involves also the summary of economical disadvantages of the Confederacy during the Civil War.
