V teoretické části je popsán historický vývoj ochrany obyvatelstva, vývoj výuky ochrany obyvatelstva na školách, úkoly ochrany obyvatelstva, integrovaný záchranný systém a mimořádné události. Praktická část bakalářská práce je zaměřena na zjišťování úrovně znalostí studentů střední školy v oblasti ochrany obyvatelstva za mimořádných událostí. Dotazníkové šetření probíhalo na Gymnáziu Jana Blahoslava a Střední pedagogické škole v Přerově.The theoretical part of the thesisi describes the historical progression of the civil protection, progression of the civil protection´s teaching method in the High schools and the integration process of the rescue system and emergency system. The practical part of the thesis examines the level of the high school student´s knowledge in the field of the civil protection. The questionnaires survey were fullfilled at the Grammar school of Jan Blahoslav and the High school of pedagogy in Přerov.
