Predmetom skúmania tejto práce je sociálna hierarchia čínskej etnickej menšiny Yi, presnejšie podskupiny Nuosu žijúcej na juhu provincie Sichuan v oblasti Liangshan v predreformnom období (pred rokom 1956). V odborných textoch zaoberajúcich sa touto témou sa čitateľ môže stretnúť s termínom kasta, ktorý označuje sociálne vrstvy v danom regióne. Termín kasta je sporným označením pre hierarchické usporiadanie tejto menšiny v očiach mnohých odborníkov. Hlavným cieľom tejto bakalárskej práce je na základe porovnávania sociálnej stratifikácie v Autonómnom regióne etnickej menšiny Yi Liangshan a prebádaného a zadefinovaného kastového systému v Indii hodnotiť hypotézu o termíne kasta ako chybnom pomenovaní sociálnej vrstvy etnickej menšiny Yi.The thesis examines a social hierarchy of the Yi ethnic minority in China, specifically the hierarchy of Nuosu Yi subgroup living in Liangshan, a southern part of Sichuan province in the pre-reform period (before 1956). The term caste which appears in the literature on this topic usually refers to a social stratum. According to many experts, the term caste is a questionable expression used to describe the hierarchy of Nuosu ethnic group. The aim is to test a hypothesis whether the use of the term caste is an adequate or inadequate expression when discussing social stratification of the Yi ethnic group. It will be conducted by comparing the social stratification system in Liangshan Autonomous Prefecture of the Yi ethnic group and the caste system in India.
