Cílem projektu a předkládané retrospektivní studie je hledání příčin vzniku neočekávaných komplikací fixních ortodontických retainerů, které jsou používány mnohdy pro dlouhodobou až doživotní retenci výsledků ortodontické léčby. Pozornost je věnována především vlivu léčebných změn a vybraným anatomickým faktorům, které představují riziko recidivy postavení dolních řezáků či zdroj síly působící během retenčního období na dolní frontální segment a fixní retainer. Výsledky projektu mohou přinést do klinické praxe doporučení, která by mohla snížit rizika použití fixních retainerů. Mimo jiné si tato práce klade za cíl na tento klinicky významný fenomén upozornit odbornou veřejnost.The aim of this project and presented retrospective study is to identify possible causative factors in the development of unexpected complications of fixed orthodontic retainers, which are very frequently used for long-term or even life-long retention of orthodontic treatment results. The main attention is focused on the influence of treatment changes and selected anatomical factors, which may present a risk for relaps of the incisor original position or a source of pressure affecting the lower incisor region and fixed retainer during the retention period. The results of this project could perhaps contribute with recommendations to clinical practice, which could decrease the risks associated with the use of fixed retainers. Additionaly, another aim is to present this clinically relevant phenomenon to the professinal public.
