Předkládaná práce je věnována vzniku a rozvoji českého koncertního melodramu. Ústřední částí práce je šest koncertních melodramů Zdeňka Fibicha, které se staly základem rozvoje českého koncertního melodramu. Na nich je ukázána specifika kompozice koncertního melodramu i problematika jeho interpretace a recepce. Jednotlivé kapitoly práce přinášejí upřesněnou definici melodramu a nástin jeho historického vývoje, předpoklady a evropský kontext tvorby Zdeňka Fibicha i vývoj koncertního melodramu v dalších generacích českých skladatelů. Na závěr je připojen soupis českých koncertních melodramů, které se podařilo do této chvíle evidovat.The present work is dedicated to the creation and development of Czech concert melodrama. The central part is six concert melodramas by Zdenek Fibich, which became the basis for the advancement of Czech concert melodrama. On them is shown the specifics of composition of concert melodramas and the issues of its interpretation and reception. The individual chapters provide a clarification of the definition of melodrama and an outline of its historical development, assumptions and the European context for the creation and development of Zdenek Fibich's works in future generations of Czech composers. In Annex is the inventory of Czech concert melodramas that managed to be recorded to this moment.
