Předkládaná práce se zabývá problematikou soběstačnosti geriatrických pacientů, a to především možnostmi diagnostiky snížené soběstačnosti (respektive disability) a jejím testováním. Obecná část shrnuje poznatky, které spadají do oblasti gerontologie a geriatrie, informace o procesu stárnutí a stáří a také problematiku kvality života ve stáří. Hlavním tématem speciální části je výběr testových a dotazníkových metod vhodných k testování míry soběstačnosti a mobility geriatrických pacientů. Speciální část dále zahrnuje nástroje pro hodnocení kognitivních funkcí, screeningové testy a škály pro hodnocení bolesti, dotazníky hodnotících depresi a kvalitu života a screeningové nástroje pro hodnocení nutričního stavu. Práce je doplněna výběrem metod léčebné rehabilitace vhodných k udržení a/nebo zvýšení soběstačnosti. Bakalářská práce je v závěru doplněna dvěma kazuistikami geriatrických pacientek.The presented dissertation focuses on the issue of self-sufficiency among geriatric patients, primarily on the possibilities of diagnostics of reduced self-sufficiency (or of a disability) and its testing. The general section summarizes findings which fall into the fields of gerontology and geriatrics, information on the aging process and old age, and problems with quality of life in old age. The main theme of the special section is a collection of tested and surveyed methods suitable for testing the degree of self-sufficiency and mobility of geriatric patients. The special section further includes instruments for evaluating the cognitive functions, screening tests and scales for assessing pain, questionnaires evaluating depression and quality of life, and screening tools for assessing nutritional status. The dissertation is supplemented by a selection of methods of medical rehabilitation suitable for maintaining and/or increasing self-sufficiency. The bachelor dissertation is supplemented in its conclusion by two case reports of female geriatric patients.
