Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na vysledování vztahu mezi vývojem postoje společnosti k domorodým obyvatelům Ameriky a vývojem kinematografie. Pro pochopení filmové imaginace domorodých obyvatel Ameriky západní civilizací si práce bere teorii orientalizmu, představenou Edwardem Saidem. V bakalářské práci je popsán historický vývoj interakce mezi indiány a euroamerickou civilizací a souběžně i vývoj kinematografie ve 20. století. V práci jsou uvedeny příklady čtyř snímků vztahujících se k této problematice.This thesis is focused on the relationship between the developement of society's attitude towards Native Americans and the developement of the cinematography. In order to understand cinema's imagination of Native Americans by western civilization, the thesis is working with the theory of orientalism by Edward Said. The historical developement of interactions in between Indians and euroamerican civilization and in the same time the developement of the cinematography of 20th century is described in this thesis as well. Furthermore, this thesis includes an analyzation of four films that are deeply related to this issue.
