Hlavním tématem práce je kvalitativní analýza děl se sportovní tematikou (knihy, filmu a seriálu Friday Night Lights) vedená s důrazem na způsob prezentace etnicity v rámci fotbalového týmu a skupiny fanoušků. Ústřední otázka výzkumu zní: jak jsou prezentovány etnické diference v dílech se sportovní tematikou? Dokáže týmová kolektivní identita či síla ritualizovaného fandění spojit etnicky diferentní individua a pokud ano, jakým způsobem je to recipientům zprostředkováno? Vedle specifické kolektivní identity tak výběr sportu určuje i přítomnost a zvýznamnění rituálních prvků.The primary focus of this thesis is the qualitative analysis of media content with sport themes. It analyses the book, the film and the TV series Friday Night Lights and places emphasis on the representation of ethnicity in the football team and its group of fans. The research concentrates on how ethnic differences are represented in episodes centred on sport themes. It attempts to answer the question whether collective team identity and the power of ritualized fan behaviour have the capacity to bring together ethnically different individuals and if yes, in what ways this is mediated to the audience. Beside the specific collective identity, the sport selected here also determines the presence and the meaning of elements of ritual.
