Švýcarsko se v souvislosti s procesem evropské integrace jeví jako izolovaný stát. Proto je tato země často opomíjena ve výzkumu europeizace, i když jí ve skutečnosti velkou měrou podléhá. Vztahy mezi Švýcarskem a EU můžeme tedy mnohdy označit za rozporuplné a nejasné. Z tohoto důvodu si dala autorka za cíl objasnit tuto problematiku teorií europeizace nečlenských států podle Franka Schimmelfenniga a pomocí jeho konceptu zhodnotit dosavadní úroveň integrace a europeizace. Jedná se o případovou studii opírající se o metody analýzy a deskripce, přičemž předmětem práce jsou vztahy Švýcarska s EU od 50. let. Dále autorka usiluje o vymezení hlavních specifik země, kvůli kterým odmítá přistoupit do EU. Z tohoto hlediska bude práce konkrétně zaměřena na aspekty, jako je federalismus, neutralita, prvky přímé demokracie a ekonomika. Dílčí cíl představuje mimo jiné i nastínění možností budoucího vývoje vztahů Švýcarska a EU, kde se autorka snaží vyhodnotit, jaká varianta je nejpravděpodobnější. Během práce se autorka zaměřuje také na historický vývoj vztahů mezi Švýcarskem a EU, aby bylo možné zasadit téma do širších souvislostí. Poslední kapitola se zabývá oblastmi jako bankovní tajemství a imigrační politika Švýcarska, jelikož významně ovlivnili současné interakce mezi oběma aktéry.When speaking of European integration process Switzerland seems to be isolated. That is why this country is often neglected in a research of Europeanization, even though Switzerland is influenced by it to a large extent. Relations between Switzerland and the EU can be therefore described as contradictory and unclear. For this reason, the author aims to clarify this issue by theory of Europeanization of non-member states by Frank Schimmelfennig and using his concept to evaluate the level of Switzerland´s integration and Europeanization. This is a case study based on the method of analysis and description where the subjects of thesis are relations between Switzerland and the EU since the 50s. The author seeks to define the main aspects of the country for refusing to accede to the EU. From this perspective, the work will specifically focus on particularities such as federalism, neutrality, elements of direct democracy and economy. Sub-objective represents, among others, an outline of possible future developments of Switzerland and the EU, where the author tries to evaluate what is the most likely option. During the work, the author also focuses on the historical development of relations between Switzerland and the EU, in order to integrate the topic into a broader context. The last chapter deals with areas such as banking secrecy and Swiss immigration policy, since it significantly influenced the current interaction between the two actors.
