Tématem mé bakalářské práce je analýza filmu Příběh Alvina Straighta od režiséra Davida Lynche z roku 1999. Práce vymezuje charakteristické prvky, strukturu a ústřední motivy road movie a na základě těchto definic analyzuje film z hlediska žánru s přihlédnutím k teorii žánrové hybridity. Úkolem práce je zhodnotit, do jaké míry jsou ve filmu naplněna žánrová kritéria a čím se od nich film naopak odklání. Práce dále zkoumá daný snímek v kontextu Lynchovy tvorby a vymezuje typické motivy objevující se v Lynchových filmech, jako je cesta a problematika rodinných hodnot. Hlavním cílem práce je určit motivy, které podněcují hlavního hrdinu k cestě a zhodnotit hlediska jejich naplnění v analyzovaném filmu.The topic of my Bachelor thesis is analysis of the movie The Straight Story, directed by David Lynch in 1999. It defines the characteristic elements, structure and central motifs of road movie and on the basis of these definitions, analyses the movie in terms of genre in regard to the theory of genre hybridity. The task of this thesis is to evaluate the extent to which the movie fulfilled with genre criteria and what are the deflections from it. The thesis also examines the image in the context of Lynch's work and defines the typical motifs appearing in the movies of David Lynch, as is the road and the issue of family values. The main goal of this thesis is to determine the motives that encourage the main character to travel and to evaluate fulfilment of these motives in the analyzed movie.
