Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá tematikou smrti ve vybraných nizozemsky psaných knihách, které jsou určeny pro děti od 0 do 9 let. Konkrétní analýze a srovnání těchto knih předchází teorie o dopadu smrti na blízkou osobu a prožívání smutku. V další části práce jsou pojednávána věkové kategorie čtenářů a funkce literatury pro děti a mládež. Hlavním cílem této práce je zodpovězení otázky, zdali je možné v dětských knihách najít způsob, jak dětem vysvětlit smrt přímo úměrně jejich věku.This bachelor thesis is concerned with the death theme in the selected books written in Dutch which are meant for the children from 0 until 9 years. The concrete analysis and comparison of these books is preceded by the theory about the impact of the death on the close person and handling grief. In the next part of the thesis there are discussed reading levels and functions of the children´s and youth´s literature. The main aim of this thesis is answering the questions if it is possible to find a way in the children´s books how to explain death to the children appropriately to their ages.
