Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na identifikaci funkce motivu racka ve struktuře stejnojmenného Čechovova dramatu a interpretaci sémantického prostoru, který je prostřednictvím motivu otevírán. Z hlediska uvedeného cíle jsme se věnovali výkladu pojmů podstatných k provedení analýzy, následně jsme vyložili nezbytné obsahové, prostorové a časové souvislosti a poukázali jsme na místo jednotlivých postav ve struktuře dramatu. Analýzou dramatu jsme motiv racka identifikovali, popsali a závěrem zhodnotili jeho funkci ze sémantického hlediska.The bachelor thesis is focused on the identification of the seagull motif in the structure of Chekhov's play of the same name. It is also concerned with the interpretation of the semantic space that opens through the seagull motif. With respect to the aim stated we occupied ourselves with the interpretation of the terms fundamental for the implementation of the analysis. Then we set out necessary connections between the content, space and time, and we highlighted the location of individual characters in the structure of the play. By the analysis of the play we identified the seagull motif, depicted it and finally evaluated its function with respect to the semantic point of view.
