Bakalářská diplomová práce se zabývá tématem šílenství ve vybraných povídkách ze tří povídkových souborů francouzského spisovatele Guy de Maupassanta (Les Contes du jour et de la nuit, Monsieur Parent, Toine). Cílem práce je zachytit téma šílenství v autorově tvorbě, vydělit jeho různé typy a analyzovat jeho funkci v díle. Kromě analytické části předkládá práce také nastínění kontextu literatury 19. století a představení osobnosti a tvůrčího stylu autora.This thesis deals with the topic of insanity in tales from three chosen tale anthologies by French writer Guy de Maupassant (Les Contes du jour et de la nuit, Monsieur Parent, Toine). The aim of this thesis is to catch up the topic of insanity and to analyse its role and function in the authors writing and to identify its different types. Besides the analytic part, the thesis presents an outline of the 19th century French literature context as well as authors personality and his creative style.
