Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá vývojem politického statusu Kosova. Hlavním cílem práce je zodpovědět výzkumnou otázku Bylo jednostranné vyhlášení nezávislosti Kosova legitimním krokem z pohledu práva národů na sebeurčení? Vedlejším cílem je poté zmapovat problematiku politického statusu Kosova s ohledem na práva obou etnických menšin. Práce je koncipována do dvou částí, a to části teoretické a části analytické. První polovina teoretického celku je věnována vymezení pojmů, které jsou pro pochopení kosovského konfliktu klíčové, konkrétně etnicitě, etniku a etnickému konfliktu. Ve druhé části celku jsou poté představeny dva koncepty, na kterých je výzkum postaven, koncept teritoriální integrity a především koncept práva národů na sebeurčení. Analytický celek se zabývá etnickým složením Kosova a vývojem jeho politického statusu až po vyhlášení nezávislosti v roce 2008. Poslední kapitola analytického rámce rovněž reflektuje přístupy jednotlivých států, včetně České republiky, ke kosovskému politickému statusu. Výše zmíněné cíle práce jsou ustanoveny v závěru, který kromě jejich zodpovězení poukazuje na užitečnost dalšího výzkumu dané problematiky.This bachelor's thesis deals with the development of the political status of Kosovo. The main aim of the thesis is to answer the research question: Was the unilateral declaration of Kosovo's independence a legal step in view of the right of nations to self-determination? The minor aim is to map problems of Kosovo's political status with respect to the rights of both ethnic minorities. The thesis is conceived (divided) into two parts theoretical and analytical. The first half of the theoretical unit is focused on the definition of terms which are key for understanding of Kosovo conflict, concretely ethnicity, an ethnic group, an ethnic conflict. In the other part of the unit two concepts which the research is based on are presented a territorial integrity concept and especially the concept of the right of the nations to self-determination. The analytical unit deals with the ethnic structure of Kosovo and the development of its political status till the declaration of the independence in 2008. The last chapter of the analytical unit also reflects attitudes of particular states including the Czech Republic to the Kosovo's political status.Thereinbefore mentioned aims of the thesis are determined in the conclusion which not only answers them but also refers to the usefulness of further research of set problems.
