Tato práce se zaměřuje na analýzu mediální reprezentace smrtí Saddáma Husajna a Muammara Kaddáfího, jak je zpracovala Česká televize ve své hlavní zpravodajské relaci Události. Cílem je pomocí nástrojů kritické diskursivní analýzy podle konceptu Normana Fairclougha na vybraném vzorku prozkoumat diskursivní praxi a pokusit se odhalit způsoby podporování dominantní ideologie a hegemonických struktur a přispívání k naturalizaci statu quo. Teoretickým východiskem výzkumu přitom jsou teze teorie mediální konstrukce reality.This work is focused on the analysis of media representations of Saddam Hussein and Muammar Gaddafi's deaths that were created and broadcast by Ceska televize in its main news programme Udalosti. Using the tools of critical discourse analysis of Norman Fairclough's conception, it aims to explore discourse practice used in selected research sample and attempts to reveal ways of supporting dominant ideology and hegemonic structures and contributing to status quo naturalization. The analysis is based on the principles of the media construction of reality theory.
