Bakalářská práce zkoumá hlavní postavu novely Cizinec A. Camuse prizmatem existenčních kategorií S. Kierkegaarda. V první části se snaží o vytýčení možností, které má lidská existence obecně k dispozici na základě Kierkegaardových kategorií estetického, etického a náboženského. Ve druhé části se pokouší analyzovat způsob existence hlavního postavy novely Cizinec. Z perspektivy Kierkegaardových kategorií jde o portrét, který vykresluje negativní meze možností svobodné lidské existence. Camus vytvořil velmi temný a přitom důsledně pravdivý portrét lidství, které si zvolí život bez vztahu k osobnímu absolutnu. Meze a možnosti jsou těmito dvěma autory zřetelně dány stejně jako důsledky přestoupení těchto mezí. Absolutizace neosobní smrti vede k anihilaci veškerého smyslu, hodnoty a tedy i života samotného.This bachelor thesis aims to examine the main character of A. Camus' novel The Stranger through the existential categories of S. Kierkegaard. In the first part it attempts to establish the options that human existence generally has at its disposal. These options are based on Kierkegaard's categories of aesthetic, ethical and religious. In the second part it attempts to analyze the way the main character of Camus' novel exists. From Kierkegaard's perspective it is a picture that exemplifies the negative options of the free human being. Camus has created a very dark, and at the same time thoroughly true, picture of humanness that chooses a life lived without relationship to the personal absolute. With these two authors limits and options are clearly given as well as the consequences of not respecting these limits. Absolutization of impersonal death leads to the annihilation of all the meaning and value, and therefore of life itself.
