Autor se v této práci věnuje tématu politické teologie a fundamentalismu, přičemž práce zkoumá protesty, které se v rámci Arabského jara udály v Saúdské Arábii. Autor se v práci dále snaží obhájit hypotézu, že klíčovým faktorem, který způsobil neúspěch protestů, byla "sekuritizace" protestujících šíitů a následná neochota většinového obyvatelstva, sunnitů, účastnit se protestů. K tomu autor využívá bezpečnostní teorii Kodaňské školy, kterou ve své disciplinované interpretativní studii aplikuje na zkoumaný případ, přičemž klade důraz na kontext, v jakém se protesty odehrály, aby tak mohl zdůraznit postavení náboženského establishmentu v zemi.The author focuses on the theme of political theology and fundamentalism in this thesis. The work examines protests which occurred during the Arab spring in Saudi Arabia. The author is then trying to defend hypothesis that the key factor which cause failure of protests was securitization of protesting Shiites and consequent unwillingness of the majority of population, Sunnis, to participate in protests. Author uses the Copenhagen school theory for this purpose. He applies the theory on the cause under examination in his disciplined interpretative study, while he highlights the context in which the protests occurred, so he can emphasize the status of religious establishment in the country.
