Práce se zabývá problematikou z oblasti klinické psychologie a psychoonkologie. Tématem je prožívání období hospitalizace, vliv životních změn na kvalitu života, copingové strategie a další proměnné a jejich korelace s medicínskými daty. Ústřední část práce tvoří vlastní empirická studie realizovaná v letech 2008-2010 ve Fakultní nemocnici Olomouc. Kvalitativní výzkumná studie tvořící jádro empirické části práce sledovala vybrané pacienty onkologické kliniky Fakultní nemocnice Olomouc. Výzkumného šetření se zúčastnilo celkem 138 pacientů Onkologické kliniky Fakultní nemocnice Olomouc hospitalizovaných mezi lety 2008 a 2010. Výsledný výzkumný soubor je tvořen 82 hospitalizovanými pacienty ve věkové kategorii 45 až 69 let, s aktuálně diagnostikovaným onkologickým onemocněním (C50 či C18-C21), ve třetím klinickém stadiu onemocnění při vstupní diagnóze, s prvním výskytem či první recidivou tohoto onemocnění, u kterých plán kurativní či paliativní léčby zahrnuje chemoterapeutickou a operativní/radioterapeutickou léčbu. Výzkum probíhal ve třech časových momentech, sledovány byly zejména tyto proměnné: nastoupená léčba, recidiva či první výskyt aktuálního onkologického onemocnění, pohlaví, věk, nejvyšší dosažené vzdělání, potomci a výstupy z užitých metod (dotazníky EORTC QLQ - C30, SQUALA, COPE-R a Index Karnofského).The objective of this study is to examine some of the clinical psychology and psycho-oncology issues. The main theme looks at how people experience the period of hospitalisation, the impact of life changes on the quality of life, coping strategies and other variables and their correlation with medical data. The focal part of this study contains an empirical study, which was carried out between the years 2008 - 2010 in The Teaching Hospital in Olomouc. The quantitative research inquiry, which is also the core of the empirical part of this study, observed certain patients of The Oncology Clinic of The Teaching Hospital in Olomouc. Altogether 138 patients of The OCTTHO, hospitalised between the years 2008 and 2009, took part in the research inquiry. The final observational file consists of 82 hospitalised patients at the age from 45 to 69, diagnosed, at that time, with an oncological illness (C50 or C18-C21) in the third clinical stage during the preliminary diagnosis, with the first occurrence or first recurrence of this disease, whose plan of curative or palliative treatment included chemotherapy and surgical/radiotherapy treatment. The research was carried out in three different periods, during which the following variables in particular were observed: commenced treatment, recurrence or first occurrence of the existent oncological disease, sex, age, the highest level of education reached, descendants, and the outputs of the methods used (questionnaires, EORTC QLQ - C30, SQUALA, COPE-R and The Karnofský Index).
