Tato bakalářská práce má formát komentovaného překladu publicistických textů, tzv. columns, z anglického jazyka do českého a zaměřuje se na převod metafory mezi angličtinou a češtinou. V první části se zabývá žurnalistickou terminologií a definováním column. V další části se zabývá metaforou a jejím překladem, dále charakteristikou výchozích textů a určením překladatelských strategií. V další kapitole se nachází překlad publicistických textů, za kterým následuje komentář k překladu se zaměřením na metafory. Závěry jsou shrnuty v závěrečné kapitole.This bachelor?s thesis has the format of a commented translation of journalistic articles called columns from English to Czech. The thesis focuses on the transfer of metaphors between the Czech and the English language. The first part deals with journalistic terminology and defines a column. The next section deals with a metaphor and its translation, the characteristics of source texts and it determines the translation strategies. In the next chapter, there is the translation of journalistic articles followed by a commentary on the translation with a focus on metaphors. The conclusions are summarized in the final chapter.
