Studiu polárních oblastí je v současnosti věnována značná pozornost. Důvodem je citlivost těchto oblastí na působení lidské hospodářské činnosti a jejich vzdálenost od lidské civilizace. Jsou považovány za ukazatele intenzity a rychlosti globálních změn probíhajících na naší planetě. Polární oblasti jsou části naší planety, kde k těmto změnám dochází nejintenzivněji a nejvýrazněji v souvislosti s globálním oteplováním. Bakalářská práce je věnována výzkumu jezerních ekosystémů polárních oblastí. Autorka se účastnila kurzu polární ekologie, který proběhl na souostroví Špicberky. Zde byla provedena praktická část pod vedením odborníků. Na základě dostupné odborné literatury, především anglických publikací a odborných článků, jsou podány základní informace studovaného území, jako je popis klimatu, fauny, flóry, geologie a geologický vývoj v období holocénu. Dále je popsána klasifikace jezer dle uvážení autorky se zřetelem na ledovcová jezera polárních oblastí. Práce poskytuje přehlednou klasifikaci jezer studované oblasti, která byla provedena na základě terénních prací a zhodnocení výsledků měření s grafickými výstupy.Study of the polar regions is given considerable attention at present. The main reasons are the sensitivity of these areas on the effect of human economic activities and their distance from human civilization. They are considered as indicators of the intensity and speed of global changes of our planet. Polar regions are part of the planet where these changes are most intense and most notably in the context of the global warming. The bachelor thesis is devoted to research of the lacustrine ecosystems of the polar regions. The author participated in the course of polar ecology, which took place on the Svalbard archipelago. There was made a practical part under the guidance of experts. Based on available reference documentation, i.e. mostly publications in English as well as thematic articles on polar region exploration, are submitted basic information of the studied area, such as a description aspects of climate, hydrology, terrain, fauna, flora and geological development with emphasis on development in the Holocene epoch. Thesis provides the classification of lakes at the discretion of the author with regard to the glacial lakes of the polar regions. The work provides a clear classification of the lakes of the studied area, which was based on the field work and evaluation of the measurement and results with graphical outputs.
