Tématem práce je srovnání asertivity dětí v období pubescence u pubescentů z České republiky a ze Spojených států amerických. Teoretická část je věnována původu asertivity, definici, rozlišení mezi asertivitou, agresí, pasivitou a manipulací. Další část popisuje asertivní práva, asertivní dovednosti a techniky. Práce zahrnuje také kapitoly o období pubescence a o asertivitě v období pubescence. Za teoretickou částí jsou výzkumy, které se tématem asertivita u pubescentů zabývaly. Cíle této práce byly ověřit případný rozdíl v asertivitě mezi zkoumanou skupinou pubescentů z České republiky a zkoumanou skupinou pubescentů ze Spojených států amerických, ověřit rozdíly mezi pohlavími v obou státech a zjistit rozdíly v asertivitě mezi dívkami z ČR a z USA a mezi chlapci z ČR a z USA. V rámci výzkumných cílů byla použita škála Children´s Assertiveness Inventory. Cílovou skupinou byly děti ve věku 13-15 let. Podařilo se potvrdit, že mezi pubescenty obou států existuje rozdíl. Navíc bylo zjištěno, že američtí pubescenti jsou více asertivní než čeští pubescenti. Také byl potvrzen rozdíl mezi americkými a českými děvčaty a zároveň bylo zjištěno, že americká děvčata jsou více asertivní než česká. Rozdíl v míře asertivity se nepotvrdil mezi pohlavími v obou státech, ani mezi americkými a českými chlapci.The topic of the thesis is comparison of assertiveness in pubescent children from Czech Republic and the USA. The theoretical part is devoted to origin of assertiveness and its definition, and to a distinction among assertiveness, aggression, passivity and manipulation. Another part of the thesis describes assertive rights, assertive skills and assertive techniques. The thesis also contains chapters about pubescence and about assertiveness in pubescent children. There are researches about assertiveness in pubescent children behind the theoretical part. One of the efforts was to check any difference between two researched groups of Czech pubescent children and American pubescent children. Another effort was to check any differences between the sexes in both states. The last effort was to check any differences between Czech and American girls and between Czech and American boys. In my research there was used Children?s Assertiveness Inventory. The target groups of my research were children at the age of 13 to 15. After the research I can confirm there is statistically significant difference between Czech and American pubescent children. It was also found, that American pubescent children are more assertive than Czech pubescent children. The results also revealed there is statistically significant difference between Czech and American girls, too. At the same time it was found, that American girls are more assertive than Czech girls. There was not found statistically significant difference between American and Czech boys. The results did not show any difference between the sexes neither in Czech Republic, nor in the USA.
