Práce se zabývá reakcemi českých básníků na občanskou válku ve Španělsku, primárně v jejich básnických vyjádřeních, která se pokouší interpretovat jednak v kontextu sborníků, vydaných na podporu republikánského Španělska, jednak v kontextu jednotlivých sbírek konkrétních autorů, do nichž byly básně reagující na španělské události zařazeny, a samozřejmě také v obecně historických souvislostech občanské války, na jejímž pozadí došlo k ideové polarizaci evropské kultury. Vyjadřuje se rovněž k situaci poezie v samotném Španělsku a ke vzájemným kontaktům československé a španělské kultury/literatury v 2. pol. 30. let.This Bachelor thesis deals with the reflections of the Civil War in Spain 1936?1939 in the work of Czech poets. It is primarily focused on the reactions reflected in their poetry but it also refers to the different ways of perceiving the Civil War in context of the tensed situation in Europe in the second half of 30´s. In the first chapter which generally refers to the Civil War several main historical topics are mentioned: an intervention of German and Italian forces, a role of Czech citizens in Spain during the war (members of the International Brigades, medicines and cultural workers) and particularly the problem of a military intervention of the Soviet Union and its consequences. The second chapter attempts to describe and analyse two the most important symposia. They were both published in 1937 and gave to the representatives of the Czech culture the first common space for expressing their comments and standpoints towards the war. In the third chapter there are described the echoes of the Civil War in specific collections of work of several great Czech poets. The analysis is especially concentrated on work of J. Seifert, V. Nezval, V. Holan, F. Halas and J. Hora. The fourth chapter touches the situation in Spain in the middle of the war. In examples of life and work of several Spanish poets (with an exception of Pablo Neruda, who held a post of Chilean consul in Madrid, though) it shows how much they were influenced by the war. The fifth chapter is dedicated to the myth of F. García Lorca´s end of life and to reflections of his death in poetry of those days. The sixth chapter is focused on the beginning of the 50´s when the second wave of publishing of the poetry referring to the war passed through. New translations of pieces of work written by Spanish poets are mentioned as well as the analysis of the work of one quite unknown Czech poet ? and an eyewitness of the war at the same time.
