Předmětem této práce je studium ikonografie oděvu a hledání typologických východisek jednotlivých typů šatů. Práce se snaží monitorovat historii evropské módy a módních doplňků v 17. století. Pozornost je zaměřena hlavně na oděv na portrétech české a moravské šlechty ze sbírek hradů a zámků ve správě Národního památkového ústavu. Tyto ikonografické zdroje byly konfrontovány s dochovanými fragmenty z českých a světových muzejních sbírek. Velká pozornost byla věnována textilu pocházejícímu z hrobových výbav. Zájem byl zaměřen také na dobovou literaturu a tzv. ego dokumenty. Nebyly opomenuty ani dobové příručky věnující se krajce, střihům šatů nebo návrhům šperků.The subject of this thesis is to study the iconography of clothing and search for the typological bases of different types of dresses. The work tries to monitor the history of European fashion and fashion accessories in the 17th century. Attention is focused mainly on clothing in portraits of the Czech and Moravian nobility from the collection of castles and chateaux in the administration of the National Heritage Institute. These iconographic sources were compared with the preserved fragments of the Czech and international museum collections. Great attention was paid to textiles originating from the tomb equipments. Interest was also focused on contemporary literature and so called ego documents. Contemporary handbooks dedicated to lace, patterns of clothes or design of jewelry could not be omitted.
