Cílem práce je vytvoření překladu dosud nepřeložené povídky Němý orchestr (1992) současného ruského spisovatele Marka Charitonova. Teoretickou částí práce je rozbor translačního procesu ve všech relevantních aspektech. Součástí komentáře je pojednání o celkové strategii překladu daného textu, zařazení autora a jeho díla do širšího literárního kontextu a vymezení invariantních poetických rysů daného díla, jako například idiolekt vypravěče či efekt mluveného slova. Lingvistická analýza překladu se zabývá konkrétními metodami a transformacemi uplatněnými v rámci překladu. Tyto postupy jsou popsány z teoretického hlediska a opatřeny konkrétními příklady z textu.The aim of this thesis was to translate the not-yet-translated short story Mute Orchestra (1992) by the Russian contemporary writer Mark Kharitonov. The theoretical part of the thesis is an analysis of the translation process in its relevant aspects. Part of the commentary is also dealing with the overall strategy of translation of this text, the author's place in the literary context as well as the poetic style of this prose, such as the idiolect of the narrator or the effect of oral narration, which features have to be reflected in the translation. The linguistic analysis deals with the concrete methods and transformations applied in the translation. Apart from the theoretical background, examples from the text are provided.
