Práce se zabývá vlivem Josefa Dobrovského na rozvoj česko-ukrajinských jazykových a literárních vztahů. Předmětem zkoumání jsou kontakty mezi českými a ukrajinskými vědci na poli literárním, kulturním a jazykovém. Pozornost je vědnován časopisům daného období (Časopis českého muzea, Květy, Poutník), dále korespondenci a také osobním kontaktům mezi Čechy a Ukrajinci. V práci jsou také rozpracovány překlady ukrajinských písní do češtiny. V závěru je nastíněn další vývoj kulturních česko-ukrajinských vztahů, především v oblasti folkloristiky a literatury.The topic of dissertation is an analysis and synthesis of Czech and Ukrainian literary relations from the end of 18th century until the end of 1850?s. These relations were initiated by Josef Dobrovský and his after his model, the attention of Czech scholars turned to the East, not only to Russian, but also to Ukraine. The first sporadic and brief reports evolved into scientific accounts, language analyses and ethnographic studies. The period of interest captures the development of knowledge about Ukraine, their inhabitants, culture and especially about their difference from Russia, which is connected with the Ukrainian desire for self-definition and political autonomy.
