Magisterská diplomová práce zahrnuje český překlad dvanácti krátkých francouzských publicistických textů Borise Viana se souhrnným názvem Lhářovy sloupky a translatologicko-lingvistický komentář překladu tří vybraných jazykových jevů: francouzských výplňkových konstrukcí (étoffement), slovních hříček a bezekvivalentního lexika. Práce popisuje historicko-literární kontext vzniku překládaných textů a charakterizuje autorský styl Borise Viana. Překlad i komentář vycházejí z teorie tzv. funkční stylové ekvivalence. Pro dané jevy neexistuje při překladu češtiny přímý ekvivalent. Na příkladech z Lhářových sloupků demonstrujeme, jak lze tyto jevy v češtině kompenzovat.The Master's degree thesis includes a Czech translation of twelve short French publicistic texts by Boris Vian with the omnibus title Chronicles of the Liar and a translatological and linguistic commentary of three selected language phenomena: French Supplementations (étoffement), quibbles and non-equivalent vocabulary. The thesis describes the historical and literary context of the creation of Chronicles of the Liar and characterizes the Boris Vian's style. The translation as well as the commentary are based on the theory of functional equivalence, i. e. the ability to find the translation equivalent of every element of the text within the whole language structure, the original and the translated elements can belong to the different language levels. From the point of view of the equivalence, the selected phenomena are problematical, because there is not any direct translation equivalent in the Czech language. Using the examples from the Chronicles of the Liar documents how these phenomena can be compensated.
